2. What is a Computer? 

Purpose: Students will create a definition for a computer. 

Distribute Journals - Explain how all pages in the journal should be set up. 

Ask students to look around the room and state the number of computers they see in the room. 

• Each student should share the number with the class and point to the items. 

Journal: 

• Ask students to define a computer in one sentence in their journals. 
• Share with group and create a group definition. 
• Share with class and create a class definition.
